Does the system come with a warranty?

Yes, we provide a comprehensive parts and labour warranty for 12 months. This warranty can be extended by an additional two years, covering both parts and labour, followed by a further two years with parts-only coverage. The warranty extension is contingent upon an annual service carried out by our aftercare and maintenance team, during which the system is cleaned, tested, and inspected.

The service fee is £20 per month (including VAT) for 1-3 indoor units and £25 per month (including VAT) for 4-7 indoor units. This fee is collected via monthly direct debit.

What happens after I have had a survey?

Following the survey, our surveyor will enter the information into our database and select the appropriate capacity indoor units needed to air condition the specified rooms. They will then prepare a quotation based on your requirements, which will be emailed to you, typically within 72 hours of the site survey.

What is an online self survey?

If you live in an apartment built after 2000, you have the option to complete our Online Self survey form to get a quote within 72 hours.

To complete an online self survey you will require a tape measure, as you’ll need to provide the dimensions of the rooms in your property and upload pictures or short videos of where you want the air conditioning to be installed.

This whole process takes about 15 minutes depending on the number of rooms you need cooled. If you want air conditioning in more than 5 rooms, you’ll need to have an on-site or video survey.

How does a video survey work?

Using WhatsApp or FaceTime, you’ll be required to guide the engineer around your property using your mobile device and show them the rooms where you would like air conditioning (please note you’ll need a tape measure handy). Just like with an on-site survey, the engineer will be able to answer any questions you may have.

How does an on-site survey work?

An engineer will attend and survey your property at a time convenient to you. During the visit, they'll measure and identify the best way to install the system. They will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Why do you need to complete a survey to provide me with a quote?

Since every property is constructed differently, we need to ensure there are no specific constraints that could affect the installation at your location. Installations are always possible as long as your property has mains electricity, water, and drainage connections. However, we may need to consider alternative routes for running pipework to minimise disruption in your home, for example:

We wouldn’t want to begin installing a system only to encounter unexpected issues, so we always aim to survey the property, ideally before providing a quote.

Can I get a quote online?

Unfortunately, as every property’s needs are different, we are unable to provide you with an accurate quote online. The price of the installation will change based on several factors, such as the number of rooms that need cooling, the size of the condenser required, and the structure of the property.

We can say that our Urban Compact range of fully internal water cooled systems start from £3,990 plus VAT.

To receive an accurate quote for your property, we need to conduct a survey. We offer several survey options to suit your needs:

  • On-site Survey: One of our expert engineers will visit your property.
  • Video Survey: Conducted via WhatsApp or FaceTime.
  • Online Self Survey: Available if you live in an apartment built after 2000.

Will there be holes in the walls of my property?

For wall-mounted units, we need to cut small holes to run the pipework. These holes are hidden behind the wall-mounted units and will not be seen. In properties with solid walls, we have two options:

The first is chasing the wall to hide the pipework inside, please note this option does create a bit more dust. The second option is boxing in the pipework or using plastic trunking. Our surveyors will determine the best approach based on your wall construction.

Will I have to redecorate after installation?

In most cases, our water cooled air conditioning installation will require our engineers to cut small holes in the ceiling, to pull pipework from the indoor units to the condenser unit. While our engineers will replace the plasterboard, you will need to fill and paint over these holes.

This requirement is noted in our quotation, and we can recommend a painter and decorator who charges £350 + VAT for up to 10 holes. If your system has three or fewer indoor units, you will typically have under 10 holes to repair. For more than 3 units, the number of holes may exceed this limit. You are free to use our recommended decorator, do it yourself, or hire another professional.

Do I need to do anything before my air conditioning installer arrives?

We kindly ask that any wall decorations and furniture are removed from the area that our engineers will be working in prior to the installation, our insurance prohibits our engineers from moving them in case of accidental damage.

Further details of what you will need to do before can be found in our pre-installation guide that will be sent to you once you have booked your installation with us.

Can I fit the air conditioning myself?

No, we don’t offer self-installation because our air conditioning units require expert fitting to ensure safety, efficiency, and long-term performance. So, if you're wondering "can I install air conditioning myself?"—the answer is no. All of our systems must be installed by our qualified engineers, and every purchase includes full professional installation.

How long does it take to install the air conditioning?

We recommend allowing one day per indoor unit. In many new builds, the installation can be quicker, often completing two or three units in one day. However, we prefer to allocate extra time to account for any unexpected difficulties.

When is the best time to install the system if I’m having renovation work done?

If you’re renovating, we recommend scheduling the first fix installation as early as possible, usually right after stud walls are in place. This timing helps in planning the air conditioning pipework alongside other trades like plumbing and electrical work.

How messy is the system installation?

Despite using professional cutting and dust extraction systems, our installation teams put down dust sheets and cover furniture. However, we just want to give you a heads-up that some airborne dust may still settle on your furniture, which can be easily cleaned with a duster.

Can I put the condenser unit on my balcony?

Unfortunately, water cooled condenser units can't be installed on balconies as there's usually no nearby water supply or waste connection.

However, if you are allowed an external condenser our Incognito® systems might be the perfect option for you as it is designed for properties with balconies and blending into your property exterior. To read more about our Incognito® system click here.
