Preparing for this fluctuation in weather can be difficult. However, by having full control over the temperature and comfort of your home, you can avoid unbearable heat and humidity by regulating the temperature to suit you.

We often get asked, “isn’t air conditioning only useful in the Summer?” With our experience over the last 20 years, our expert opinion is that this couldn’t be further from the truth. We can all recall a time during Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter where you have felt too hot or cold in your home and are unable to sleep or concentrate due to the temperature. Air conditioning systems provide you the complete control to regulate the temperature in your home so you never feel the effects of being too hot or too cold.

This can be particularly important for properties in London where new builds now have very large amounts of insulation, due to new building regulations. This consequently causes flats and apartments to be pretty hot all year round. In London, many apartments are also primarily made of glass or have windows where you get large amounts of sunlight. The sun shining through windows can actually heat your home up to over 25°C which can cause lots of discomfort and consequently stress.

Air quality in London is also compromised due to the increased rate of pollution in the Capital, meaning opening a window can do more harm than good.

This humidity within the home can also impact the higher number of people who are working remotely as they go without the luxury of an office air conditioning system to keep them cool throughout the day. Air conditioning not only helps improve your productivity but the air quality and comfort in your home too. Take a look at more remote working tips here.

An internal water cooled air conditioning system will cool and lower the temperature of the air and remove excess humidity all at the same time. This means that you will feel the benefits of the cool and purified air much more efficiently.

A better way of keeping your home at a consistent temperature and potentially save energy is to set your air-con at a slightly higher temperature when you’re not at home, for example 23-25 degrees. This will create a steady temperature so when you get home you can simply turn it down a few degrees to get a cool and relaxed temperature without using excess energy.

One thing that is clear about the weather in the UK is that it is remarkably unpredictable. This has been amplified over the past few years as we have faced extreme weather conditions in the most unusual of months. For example, in February of 2019 we experienced exceptional warmth for the time of year, which was also matched in June and December with temperatures of 18°C recorded in the final month of 2019.
